January picks- weird frustrating start to a new year. But I remain optimistic and tell myself that I can do a sober March bc no one has an anniversary, funeral or whatever in March. My left knee will stop hurting by then too, I hope. This diet is my own sort of austerity though. Man, I miss cheeseburgers and pizza.
The music was stellar this month. Some picks left over from year end 2022 lists. And some old 70s funk. Sly Stone and Funkadelic are part of black "classic rock" and ought to be celebrated along with James Brown, Curtis Mayfield and Isaac Hayes like Zeppelin, the Stones, AC/DC, etc are.
And Iggy's new album is really good. Wow. The almost 80 year old punk can still bring the heat, but then croon with the best of the lounge singers. How is this man still alive?
